I didn't see this match, but I thought the Gabon vs Morocco match was up there as well. Gabon put up a superlative performance in the 2nd half and eventually carried the day.

Yesterday:

Cote d'ivoire ensured they finished Group B with a perfect record as they beat a disjointed Angola 2-0 in Malabo.

The Angolans' first group defeat means they miss the quarter-finals after Sudan beat Burkina Faso 2-1 in Bata.

Emmanuel Agyemang Badu sent Ghana into the African Nations Cup quarter-finals with a stunning goal in their 1-1 draw against Guinea while Mali joined them thanks to Seydou Keita's winner against Botswana.

African Footballer of the Year runner-up Keita's first goal of the tournament in the 75th minute gave Mali a 2-1 win over debutants Botswana, who at least kept the score respectable after losing 6-1 to Guinea in their previous match.

The African Cup of Nations have now reached a crucial stage...the quarter finals begin today!

It's Cote d'ivoire (who are attempting to lift a second crwon since winning in 1992) vs Equitorial Guinea (co-hosts) and Zambia (seeking a first semi final since 1996) vs Sudan (who have not reached the last four since winning on home soil in 1970).

What are your predictions: who will win and what will the scores be?

Zambia become the first team to breeze into the ACN 2012 semi finals with a 3 - 0 defeat of Sudan. Congrats Zambia!

Zambia Coach Herve Renard

Sudan and Zambia players wore black armbands in this quarter final, as a mark of respect for the 74 Egyptians who died after a midweek match in Port Said.

With two goals from Didier Drogba (after losing a fisrt half penalty) and a brilliant free kick by Yaya Toure (CAF African Player of the year 2011), Cote d'Ivoire sailed into the semi finals. Equitorial Guinea seeemed to have lost their early drive after the goal(s) from Drogba. Final score: Cote d'Ivoire 3 - Equitorial Guinea 0.

Today's quarter final matches:

Ghana vs Tunisia

Finalists in 2010, Ghana are cahsing a fifth title while Tunisia, as host nation, were champions in 2004.

Gabon vs Mali

Co-hosts Gabon have never reached the last four, but can home advantage tell against a Mali side who reached the semis in 2004?
