Abusive Relationships

I think..they do so when they are under the illusion that the situation will get better, and they want to be there when/if it does.
Then again there are a number of women out there who have a high tolerance for pain, they have seen their mothers bear it or other female relatives survive it so they develop copying mechanisms that kept them in the situation because they know no other reality.
Then there are those who stay because of the children. The reasons are endless

Well i think they are many reasons why women remain in abusive relationship infact the reasons are infinite, some times due to their children, wealth and love commitment, there finds it difficult to break up, however some women do believe that CHANGE is a constant phenomena so one day change will definitly occur in their life's, some times religion and culture.

I think the major reason would be because of their kids.

Women or men for that matter, should not remain in abusive relationships. If we are cautious enough, we should not even enter into them in the first place - these are the kinds of signs to look out for when you are befriending someone.

Sometimes women stay cos of their cultural beliefs, e.g. divorce is a taboo.

Oh no! This is a very sad way of thinking. Unfortunately, these negative beliefs pass on from woman to woman and from generation to generation.
