That is a very tricky situation to be in, especially since our education is largely funded by our parents/ family. It is a sad thing to pursue a career that you are not really interested in. The frustration usually catches up with one, later in life...regrets and all that. Cos when you're doing something you enjoy, you find it easier to 'manage' and to innovate, when necessary. Besides, what's the point of spending all those 'looooong' years years studying Medicine, only to pursue something else, later in life, due to boredom and lack of interest? If she knows that she knows that she knows that Geology is what she really wants to study....My advice, she should pray hard and try to persuade your parents, highlighting the main reasons why the Geological route is the best for her and them (her parents).
