Cameroon's World Cup legend Roger Milla has been removed as honorary president of his country's football federation after criticising top officials.

The 1990 World Cup star set up a group last month calling for the axing of the executive committee of the Cameroonian Federation (Fecafoot).

The 1987 African Footballer of the Year's criticism of Fecafoot came to the fore after Eto'o was banned for 15 matches for his role in last year's players' strike over unpaid bonuses.

Undeterred by Wednesday's decision, Milla has pledged to continue his campaign to remove the Fecafoot leadership.

"I've got to tell you that we're continuing our fight to get the present management of Fecafoot out of office," Milla told Associated Press.

"This decision by Fecafoot doesn't hurt me in the least. I was not an employee of Fecafoot. I was simply providing a helping hand to them to see that our country's football gets sanity."

Morocco's Younes Belhanda has been given a three-match ban and will miss Montpellier's final two games of the French season.

The 22-year-old received the ban for his red card in last week's 2-2 draw with Evian after an altercation with DR Congo defender Cedric Mongongu.

The midfielder's 12 goals and four assists have played a big role in his side's bid for a first title.

His performances for his club have also earned him the award for the best African player in Ligue 1, which he received shortly after learning about his ban.

Belhanda is also on the shortlist for French Player of the year and Young Player of the Year.

Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard says the club must offer Didier Drogba a new contract after the "unique" striker helped them to win the FA Cup.

Drogba became the first player to score in four FA Cup finals when he netted the winner against Liverpool.

In December, the 34-year-old Ivory Coast striker rejected a one-year extension, saying he wanted two years.

"I'm desperate for him to stay. He is a magnificent player. He's a machine," Lampard said. "He's unique."

"He is not just that big man. He is such a handful. He scores goals that matter and that's priceless."

Drogba - linked with moves to China, the Middle East, France and the United States - showed his worth when he scored his eighth goal in eight Wembley appearances on Saturday.
