In 2008, the Bayimba International Festival of the Arts was introduced, the first of its kind in Uganda. It has been organised on an annual basis while in 2010 a series of Bayimba Regional Festivals were added to the programme. All
Festivals have been preceded by a series of workshops for artists, aimed at stimulating creativity and artistic collaborations. In 2009, the Foundation also initiated a successful series of debates about the role of culture and arts
in society and in 2010 the first Annual Conference on Arts and Culture was held. In 2011, the Foundation started with providing training for arts and cultural managers.

The activities of the Foundation have had a profound effect on the state of arts and culture in Uganda and have catalyzed important changes for individual artists and actors in the sector. However, to leave a lasting mark on the sector and society at large, the Foundation is resolved to further invest in its
development in conjunction with its ever growing international, regional and national network of partners and supporters.

More at www.bayimba.org
